Meet our Friends

We have over 1,500 followers on social media, 400 subscribers to our newsletter and a strong core of some 40 volunteers who work with the Management Committee on a range of projects.  Meet some of our special Friends who have made significant contributions over many years.

In December 2024 many friends, new and old, joined us to celebrate 25 years caring for and protecting this wonderful bushland. Many of our guests shared their vision of Jirdarup 2049, for our 50th anniversary.

Pipeline 2112

Pipeline 2112 is our strategy to keep the Friends of Jirdarup Bushland thriving with knowledge transfer through the generations. It comprises people who have demonstrated an interest in Jirdarup and have expertise we value, but are too busy right now to commit to a regular role. 

Our ask of them is that they become a member of our organisation and join us for 2 hours a year (unless they are travelling, in an urgent work meeting, the kids are sick or whatever else is unavoidable), to meet with our Management Committee to review what we’ve done and what we should be thinking about over the coming 3-5 years. 

The idea arose from our 2112 Climate Change forum in November 2025.
