Our group formed in 1999 as the Friends of Kensington Bushland led by Gwynth Schlipalius. We rebranded in 2020.
Our logo features a Forest Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo in flight above a graphic designed by local Aboriginal artist Darryl Belotti. The rings symbolise a meeting place and the three parallel lines a journey and paths.
In 2023 we registered as an incorporated body, Friends of Jirdarup Bushland Inc., in Western Australia.
The management committee is responsible for governance and strategy. Its operations are defined by the Rules of the Friends of Jirdarup Bushland Inc.

- Harley-Rose Taylor (Deputy Chair)
- Emily Harvey (Treasurer)
- Lesley van Schoubroeck (Secretary)
- Julie Bain

The Committee is supported by two sub-committees, Landcare and Community Education.
