Teeming with flora and fauna, Banksia woodlands are precious and rare. These biodiverse landscapes once dominated Perth but are now endangered. The remnant patch called Kensington Bushland (in the heart of Jirdarup Bushland Precinct in East Vic Park) is one of very few Banksia Woodlands so close to the city. It’s small but super-special! Why?

  • Bronwen Keighery (OAM), trained as a botanist, zoologist, and teacher, Bronwen is a world expert on plants of the Swan Coastal Plain.
  • Greg Keighery (OAM), a native plant expert and senior research scientist at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions of Western Australia.
  • Margaret Redfern, author of the first fauna survey of Kensington Bushland
