Shaun Fearn – photographer

Shaun has been a regular photographer in Jirdarup since 2017.

Shaun lives close to Jirdarup in Como. He grew up in Fremantle and for the past 20 years he has lived in the South Perth area. He has been photographing in Jirdarup since 2017 but much more so in recent years due the abundance of Red-tailed Black Cockatoos.

He loves to watch the Red-tailed Black Cockatoos especially when they are frolicking around the birdwaters. Their cheeky behaviour definitely contributes to Shaun’s happy spot.

Shaun uses mostly Pentax equipment and Sigma lenses. He uses a Sigma 120-400 sports lens for wildlife shots. For macro and landscape shots, he uses 10-20 and 17-70 mm lenses.

Shaun has had a number of his photos painted in oils and also on buildings around Perth, all featuring Red-tailed Black Cockatoos. They include:

  • a 14 metre mural in the billiards centre in Queens Park.
  • Midland Gate shopping centre entrance
  • old railway carriages in Chittering.

You can see more of Shaun’s work on the Shaun Fearn Photography Website, Facebook or Instagram sites.

Shaun couldn’t decide on his favourite photo so he has sent us a mosaic.
