In 2020, new and improved bird watering stations, called Jirdarup Bird Waterers, were installed. There is one near the Etwell Street entrance and another near the BBQ on Harold Rossiter Park. Check out the great photos on the Town of Victoria Park website.
This was a collaboration between the Town of Victoria Park and the Friends of Jirdarup Bushland with funding through a Community Conservation Grant from the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife to the Friends. These state-of-the-art watering stations are now being installed across Perth.
Next on the agenda, cameras will be installed at the watering stations in the Precinct to better understand how they are used. The new bird monitoring cameras are being designed by local company Galactic Cooperative.
