A total prize pool of $3,000 is on offer, courtesy of our valued sponsors.
The winner of each category will receive a cash prize of $400 and the runner up will receive $100 in cash.
Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at a special Awards Night held on Friday the 3rd of December 2021 at the Kent Street Gallery, Victoria Park Centre for the Arts.

- Entries are open until 11:00 PM on the 30th of September 2021.
- The entry fee of $10 allows you to upload up to three (3) photos taken in Jirdarup Bushland.
- Each of these photos may be entered into any category.
- If you would like to submit more photos, you may repeat this process as many times as you like.
- Photos must be digital and submitted online in jpeg format (.jpg or .jpeg). Files must not exceed 12mb.
- Digital composites will not be accepted.
- To upload your photos, scroll down to the red box below and click on the “Submit Photos” button.
Entry into the competition is open to everyone except for the competition judges and organisers, and their immediate families.
Entrants in the Junior photographer category must be 17 years or younger (by close of entries, 30 September 2021), and may enter photos that fit any of the four nature categories.
Photos submitted must be taken from the public pathways in the Jirdarup Bushland Precinct.
Our expert panel of judges includes the internationally-renowned nature photographer Georgina Steytler and Robert Audcent (FoJB Committee member and expert photographer).
The judges will select the shortlisted images and choose a winner and runner-up for each of the five categories based on composition, creativity, technical quality, and overall impression (wow factor). The judges’ decisions are final.
The People’s Choice Award, sponsored by the Victoria Park Vet Clinic, will be chosen by the public visiting the exhibition at the Kent Street Gallery.
Note: Copyright of all entries will be retained by the photographer. The Friends of Jirdarup Bushland may negotiate on the use of winning images for promotional purposes.
Images of Jirdarup 2021 Exhibition
The best photographs will be selected for public exhibition, thanks to the generous Arts Grant received from the Town of Victoria Park.
Finalists will be notified in October and will be asked to supply high resolution images of the shortlisted photos for printing and mounting (courtesy of our sponsors Perth Prolab and Ilford). Perth Pro Lab in Burswood is Australia’s only Ilford Certified Master Photographic Printer, specialising in wide format, fine art and exhibition printing. Pure quality!
